number 1: Crystal Lewis
why: "I think she has the most awesome voice. It is just so unique! All her songs really touch you. Also, she put out a devotional that goes along with the Gold album. It is the best devotional that I have ever read. It uses the lyrics from the songs, scripture, and personal insights and stories from Crystal. The devotion really hit at home when I had a friend in our youth group that died. The devotion was there right when I needed it. Check out the song "Why." Alot of times we question why things happen (like a friend dying), but God has a plan and a way. Crystal's songs really have a way of getting you in touch with God."
number 2: Point of Grace
why: "Their four-part girls' harmony is outstanding! We have an girls ensemble at church that does just about all of their songs! They really put on a good concert that is alot of fun but also has spiritual times."
number 3: Rebecca St. James
"She is definitely one artist that "walks the walk." It is so evident in everything she sings, writes, and talks about. Her entire thoughts center around God. I really liked her devotional "40 Days With God." Besides this, she really has an amazing voice!"

number 3: Abba & N'Sync
"OK, Guys, I know what you're thinking: who is Abba? Abba is a totally cool group secular group in the 70's pop music. They were swedish. I like them because the beat sounds alot like Avalon.

N'Sync - upbeat and fun :-)"

number 1: dc Talk
why: "I love their voices and the groovy tunes and the powerful lyrics devoted to God. My fave album is Supernatural. It's just really hip! "
number 2: Jewel
why: "She has a beautiful voice and some of the lyrics can be about the simplest things but always are cool. Plus she's not exactly like any other secular singers. She sings about other things besides romantic stuff and that's cool. "
number 3: Rebecca St. James
why: "I like Rebecca St. James because she always has these kind of rock mixes that send my soul flying!! But also there are some mellow songs that burrow their way into my heart. I especially like her Christmas C.D. with O Holy Night. That just sends Holy goosebumps up my spine. I listen to it year around, even though it's a Christmas C.D. "

number 1: Steven Curtis Chapman
why: "I love his guitar-based rock and upbeat vocals. He truly has a gift for expressing God's message through song lyrics. He always inspires me. I can't wait for his new album "Speechless." I recommend him to all my friends! (Hint, hint.) "
number 2: Michael W. Smith
why: "Michael W. Smith covers such musical territory!!! Pop, gospel, rock, blues, R & B . . . you name it, he's done it! He is very convicted in his faith and his mission. He should be a role model for everyone . . . he's certainly mine!"
number 3: Clay Crosse
why: "Clay Crosse hails from Memphis, Tennessee, and his voice shows it! You haven't heard great vocal talent 'till you've heard Clay. He puts his heart and soul into every song. He also supports True Love Waits. Clay doesn't just say something, he lives it!"
